One thing newspapers and magazines hate is boring headshots, but since we're writers, what kind of photo can we provide? We can sit at a computer but that's not very much more exciting, is it? I did some brainstorming about this and decided to focus on two things that I think are unique about my approach to teaching writing, both in my new book and in my workshops. One is that I call on a lot of techniques that are based on psychology. That led this this photo:
