That excellent publication, The Writer, is a bit more excellent this month (on the cover, it's the February issue). It has the first of a series of little "Write It Right!" text and cartoon features that I'm doing for them bi-monthy for the next year. If you see it and like it, please shoot them an email!
I'm always advising writers to figure out their USP, and since I like doing cartoons I thought it was time to take advantage of that and propose some features that incorporate cartoons and text. My next book also has one of my cartoons per chapter...maybe this is the start of a trend.
Have you found your writing USP? If not, spend a moment to think about what sets your writing apart. That could relate to your stye, the things you write about, your humor, even your format (like combining text and cartoons or photos, or creating Top Ten lists, for instance). Could you make taking greater advantage of your USP?
