John Cleese gave a talk on creativity at
the Creativity World Forum recently. Among his key points:
· the unconscious mind sometimes continues to work even when the conscious mind thinks something is finished;
· interruptions are the enemy of flow and the greater the complexity of what you are doing, the more destructive interruptions are;
· you can create a mood that enables you to be more creative, by forming a kind of oasis in your life, in the middle of all the stresses. Create boundaries of space (where you won’t be interrupted) and boundaries of time (periods when you don’t have to do anything other than let your mind wander).
