Here’s a new wrinkle in print on demand publishing: Grateful Dead photographer Jay Blkaesberg is working with POD publisher Blurb to produce collector’s edition books at each venue of the Dead’s tour.
Only 72 hours after each of the 17 shows, fans will be able to buy a book featuring shots of that performance and can include one of their own photos on the cover
This could be adapted to books created for other special occasions—not only band tours, but workshops, festivals of all kinds, etc. – and could be an interesting opportunity for a writer to team up with a photographer for a new entrepreneurial venture.
