Yes, even famous people get affected by rejection. Comedy actor Jack Black told Maxim magazine that when the film he wrote, “Tenacious D: In the Pick of Destiny,” flopped, he gave up on writing scripts.
He said, “It was a body blow, mainly because we had so much fun making it. I got a lot out of the writing. I was psyched to write more screenplays, but that kind of killed my writing career.”
It's all too easy to get dejected when you are rejected -- it happens to me even after quite a few years in this business. A writer/producer in Hollywood once warned me, "the only way to stop caring is to stop caring--and on that day, you might as well stop writing."
So we--you, I, and Jack Black--will just have to get over it and move on!
