You’re doing something you don’t need to do. Maybe it served you once upon a time, but it doesn’t anymore. Or maybe you think somebody else will think less of you if you don’t do it—but they won’t. Or perhaps you’ll need to keep doing it sometimes—but not as often as you’re doing it now.
What is it?
I have no idea.
It could be ironing the sheets, reading a magazine that doesn’t really interest you anymore, playing a game on the net, going out with the gang every Friday afternoon, watching some TV show that’s past its sell-by date, at least for you…I don’t know but I bet with five minutes’ reflection you’ll find it.
Here are the steps:
- Find it.
- Stop doing it.
- Use that time to write instead.
(I know it's not very modest to say so, but I think the best time management book for writers is "Focus: use the power of targeted thinking to get more done. You can get it from Amazon and other online and offline book sellers right now.)
