Here’s a brilliant idea: little free libraries. These are tiny structures, the size of a big birdhouse, that can hold a dozen or so books. The idea is that people put in books they are finished with and take out books they’d like to read.
This is the brainstorm of Todd Bol and Rick Brooks who hope to see hundreds if not thousands of little free libraries all over the world. The first one (pictured) started in Hudson, Wisconsin, USA. You can build your own (join the Neighborhood Library Builders Guild at their website), or you can sponsor one, or become a Steward. It’s a fantastic way to get books into locations traditional libraries don’t reach. You can read more about it at : http://www.littlefreelibrary.org.
