A description of an article in the New York Times read, "PreCheck, the expedited-screening program used by a quarter of all passengers in domestic airports, is making for a less irritable experience."
They meant irritating. Here's what dictionary.com says:

I find going through security at airpots, especially those scanners that make you stand with your hands up in surrender, irritating but maybe I'm irritable.
