Here's a headline from a recent article on Blastr.com:
This Actress Wants to Play Captain Marvel Very Badly
In fact, probably Bryce Dallas Howard wants to play Captain Marvel very well.
The key to getting this aspect of grammar right is to check on proximity. Whichever verb or noun is nearest is what we'll assume is being described or modified. In this case, the verb nearest to "very badly" is "play," so we assume that she wants to play something very badly.
In fact, the intention is to have "very badly" modify "wants"--so it should have read, "This Actress Very Badly Wants to Play Captain Marvel."
Or we could avoid the whole thing by writing, "This Actress is Eager to Play Captain Marvel."
