I admit it. My YA novel, Reptile Nation, has been rejected a mere 14 times so far, but I'm hoping for more.
There are only two good stories about rejections:
"My novel was accepted by the first agent or publisher I sent it to."
or
"My novel had 99 rejections before it was accepted by an agent or publisher." (Admittedly, this one is good only if the book then turns out to be a success, but let's be optimistic.)
Since I missed the first one, I'm going for the second.
